La. Developmental Disabilities Council
Do You Hear the Call to Serve?
Do you want to get involved in advocacy and systems change activities on the state level? Do you have leadership qualities and a desire to advocate for others? Are you an individual with a developmental disability, a parent of a person with a developmental disability, or the immediate relative of an adult with an intellectual disability who cannot advocate for him/herself? If so, the DD Council encourages you to apply for Council membership.
The Council is seeking applicants for Council membership from the following geographic regions: Houma/Thibodaux, Acadiana, Lake Charles, Alexandria, Shreveport and Florida parishes. Interested persons can apply online at www.laddc.org or request an application by calling 800-450-8108.
The DD Council is a 28 member Governor appointed body that promotes systems change by advocating and planning for quality services and supports so that people with developmental disabilities can live in real homes, work at real jobs and form real relationships. Please visit the Council's website at www.laddc.org to learn more about the work of the Council - its mission, objectives and activities - and how the Council makes a difference in the lives of people with developmental disabilities in Louisiana.
